It's virtually impossible to find Fath's Love in a standard size on the collector's market. The 480 ml splash size—the so-called atelier bottle used in perfume salons and high-fashion boutiques—is truly exceptional.
There's a trinity of postwar haute couture that no couture enthusiast should ignore: Christian Dior, Pierre Balmain, and Jacques Fath. The three designers who reinvented European feminine elegance. Yet Fath's name has almost entirely faded from collective memory.
The reason is brutally simple: Jacques Fath died in 1954, at just 42 years old , of leukemia. His atelier on Avenue Pierre 1er de Serbie in Paris closed its doors shortly thereafter. He didn't have time to build the lasting legend he deserved.
Before his death, Fath dressed the most photographed women in the world: Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, Greta Garbo, Evita Perón . His parties at the Château de Corbeville were legendary among the Parisian elite. Three legendary names emerged from his atelier as assistants: Hubert de Givenchy, Guy Laroche, and Valentino Garavani .
Launched around 1961 by his widow Geneviève Boucher to continue her husband's legacy, Fath's Love quickly became one of the most coveted fragrances of the 1960s and 1970s in the haute perfumery world. A spicy and assertive opening, a warm and indolic floral heart, and a musky chypre base that lingers on the skin for hours.
It opens extraordinarily spicy and powerful—cinnamon, anise, a majestic floral heart. It reminds me of Balenciaga's vintage Quadrille, with the same evening gown aesthetic.

There is no current version of Fath's Love. Every bottle on the market is by definition vintage, and the larger sizes have disappeared over time.
